Anthropological Sciences, Ecology, and Environment

Ecological and environmental research within anthropology includes a wide range of theoretical and methodological approaches of relevance to long-term ecological research.  In this working group, anthropologists who specialize in systematic and formal approaches to ecological and environmental research will present examples of research problems they address and discuss their conceptual and methodological approaches.   The intent of these short presentations is provide illustrative examples of the range of research problems and approaches, and provide a baseline for discussions with LTER colleagues about the application of ecological and environmental anthropology to their research goals and objectives.   The overall goal of the working group is to identify intelletual and programmatic bridges between ecological and environmental anthropology and interests within LTER projects to strengthen research into ecological and human dimension interactions, at various scales and time horizons.

This meeting will be held in TWO parts, the first session Tuesday afternoon, and the second session Wednesday morning.
