2012 LTER All Scientists Meeting - General Information and Important Deadlines

The 2012 All Scientists Meeting
The 2012 All Scientists Meeting (ASM) was held at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, Colorado from September 10th to the 13th, with ancillary meetings held on September 9. The Program Committee, made up of a broad range of people representing the whole LTER community, worked hard to create a meeting that focused on  scientific interactions at many levels.

Plenary presentations focused on the theme “The Unique Role of the LTER Network in the Anthropocene: Collaborative Science across Scales”. Over 75 Working Group meetings were scheduled for seven working group sessions, over 400 posters, four evening mixers, and pre-ASM meetings for information managers, graduate students, education representatives, and the LTER Executive Board. There was ample free time within the program to allow for ad-hoc scientific interaction as well. Logistics for the meeting were handled by the LTER Network Office in collaboration with The Schneider Group, a company specializing in meeting organization.

Working Groups: Working group meetings are one of the highlights of the LTER ASM meeting, where students and researchers interact to discuss, plan and disseminate results of LTER research. The working groups are meant to be an open forum with a variety of formats to meet the objectives of the meeting organizers. http://asm2012.lternet.edu/story-12

Posters: Poster presentations and mixers have always been popular during the LTER ASM and once again were an integral part of the meeting. Presentation of posters occured during the evening mixers with all posters available for viewing for the duration of the meeting. Information on poster submission can be found at:
