Land Use Institutions, Land Use Land Cover Change, and the Distribution of Ecosystem Services

The Cross-Site group is establishing a theoretical framework and approach for comparative analysis of urban land-use/land-cover change: policy change, institutional change, and ecosystem services/disamenities.

During the first session, each site will report upon current papers, progress gathering spatial and qualitative historical data, and staffing research efforts.

The second session will consist of authoring a comparative framework of “environmental goods and bads” using qualitative data, including zoning ordinances and citywide sustainability initiatives.
