Developing a Cross-site Vegetation Data Portal for the LTER Network
This working group will examine the possibility of developing a data portal to provide access to vegetation data being gathered in the LTER network. The primary emphasis will be on ecosystem level variables, although aspects of plant community and populations may be included. To set the background the findings of a June 2012 workshop held at Harvard Forest will be shared with participants. The participants will then explore the science questions that might be enabled by such a portal as well as the steps necessary to develop the system. An expected outcome of the working group will be a set of sites willing to prototype the system.
