Activities at the YMCA

A number of activities are available at the Y itself, including volleyball, putt-putt golf, frisbee, etc. Inquire at the YMCA Sweet Memorial Building to sign out equipment.

New Venture Cycling

The New Venture Cycling Rental Shack is near the YMCA Adminstration Building (where you picked up your housing and registration packets). Their hours are 9 am-4 pm (sometimes they open at 8). A basic mountain bike is $9.00/hr. Their phone is 970-301-0362. They also have a shop in Estes Park. Visit their website for more information: www.newventurecycling.com

Estes Park Mountain Shop

The Estes Park Mountain Shope is located in Estes Park, and can arrange biking, rock climbing, hiking, fly fishing etc. Their hours are 8:00 am - 9:00 pm. Their phone is 970-231-2736. Their bike rental prices are similar to New Venture.

Wednesday Afternoon Shuttle Buses - RMNP and ESTES PARK:

1. Rocky Mountain National Park Tour -- The tour through the park is 4 hours ( 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm) and includes a commentary by the driver/guide. The cost is $39 per person. Tickets can be purchased at registration prior to noon on Monday, September 10. If the seats are not sold out, tickets may be purchased on the bus. Tour buses leave in front of the Administration Building. Visit the RMNP Website at www.nps.gov/romo/index.htm

2. A shuttle bus leaves for Estes Park at 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm and returns 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Tickets cost $10 per round trip. Tickets can be purchased at registration prior to noon on Monday, September 10. Tickets may also be available on the shuttle if seats are not sold out. The shuttle buses leave in front of the Administration Building.

3. The NIWOT Ridge LTER Site is offering a limited (only 20 seats open) field trip to the site Wednesday afternoon.  Tickets for the trip - only $10.00 can be purchased at regististration prior to noon on Monday - or until they are gone.
